The rapid growth of the agriculture in Uzbekistan has attracted many new entrants all along the commodity value chains from input providers and producers to post-harvest processing, marketing and retail sales actors that in turn increased the demand for reliable, relevant and context specific information in a local language in a mobile format. MEVA is an android based mobile application that was developed under USAID’s Agricultural Linkages Project(ALP) project with support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Uzbekistan in 2015, and provides a “gateway to information” for Uzbek farmers, particularly those involved in orchard and vineyard production.
