At the side-event of the World Green Economy Summit 2018, advancing South-South and Triangular cooperation in Green Economy for Agricultural Development and Food Security at policy-level will be addressed.
DUBAI, U.A.E. The High-level Ministerial Meeting is expected to result in establishing an action-oriented platform for future collaboration for countries participating in the SSTC-ADFS partnership initiative as well as other interested countries within the phase of the partnership focused on South-South Cooperation in Green Economy for Agricultural Development and Enhanced Food Security. It is expected that a series of practical activities will be implemented as a follow up to the Meeting, which will focus on green economy in agricultural development within the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication, aimed at sustaining economic growth, enhancing social inclusion, improving human welfare, and creating employment opportunities in the agricultural sector in the participating countries.
More specifically, it is anticipated that the new initiative will contribute to promoting South-South Cooperation in Green Economy for Agricultural Development and Enhanced Food Security through systematic advocacy and networking support at all levels, scaling up of existing home-grown systems and mechanisms for green investment in agriculture, as well as through the improvement of capacity of relevant government and other institutions.
