COVID-19 RESPONSE AND RECOVERY: PUBLIC POLICY LEADERSHIP AND INSTITUTIONAL ARRANGEMENTS
The virtual 2021 Inter-Regional Dialogue and Stocktaking for Advancing South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the Arab States, Europe and the CIS is taking place 6-8 April 2021, Istanbul, Turkey time. Organized by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation Division for Arab States, Europe and the CIS, it is a direct response to the requests of participating countries and institutional partners to better align public policy leadership and institutional arrangements with regional contexts. It will also strengthen COVID-19 response and recovery through scaling up and replicating successful practices at the regional level toward achievement of national development goals as well as the targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The virtual event will bring together high-level government officials, leading public policy experts, regional and country level senior United Nations representatives, representatives of international organizations, IFIs, relevant think tanks, as well as other stakeholders.
The inter-regional dialogue will raise regional awareness by showcasing and scaling up, including through South-South and triangular cooperation, the impact of successful evidence-based development solutions in response and recovery from COVID-19, which have been crafted and tested by countries in the Arab States, Europe and the CIS regions.
